Last.fm crew coded a little multiplatform application called Boffin that takes your music folders as input and gives you back a tag cloud as output. They say:
“The cloud represents your music collection coupled with Last.fm tag data.“
I though It was cool to share the tag cloud I got with you because it shows nearly the same results I got using my iTunes Library + custom script (read here: Netaudio Diagrams: November 2008). In this tag cloud there is no iTunes involved, but just audio tracks + Last.fm user-submitted datas, so it may be a very accurate portrait of the reality 
Netlabel scene is about electronic and experimental music too much, guys.. Sorry, but nobody can’t disagree with that now 
Try Boffin yourself btw, it’s very fast and freeware. You need a Last.fm account. These Last.fm guys did a nice, little app! In my opinion it misses:
- an add-multiple-folders-at-once feature;
- an export-tag-cloud-as-jpeg feature.

I tipi di Last.fm hanno creato una piccola applicazione freeware e multipiattaforma di nome Boffin, che prende con input le cartelle in cui conservi la tua musica e ti restituisce come output una tag cloud basata sui dati inseriti dagli utenti su Last.fm.
Io l’ho usata sulla mia enorme collezione di musica netaudio, per cercare un riscontro con le statistiche che feci qualche mese fa usando la mia libreria iTunes e uno script bash fatto da me, ed in effetti i risultati riportano! La scena netlabel gira tutta (troppo) intorno alla musica elettronica ed in particolare ai sottogeneri sperimentali della stessa.

Il database di Last.fm è da considerarsi ancora più accurato e obiettivo della mia libreria iTunes, il che non lascia più (spero / penso) spazio a dubbi di nessun genere! La scena netaudio esagera con la sperimentazione, ora venitemi a dire il contrario
Flame a parte, Boffin è un’applicazione davvero carina e ben fatta, gratuita, ma necessita di un account su Last.fm. Provatela, vi fornisce un modo diverso di vedere la vostra collezione musicale
