Did you ever wish to download tons of gigabytes of netlabel stuff in a painless way? Ok, this guide is for you 🙂
I will show you all the coolest tricks to download whole netlabel catalogues with just some clicks 🙂 This guide will show you the basics of this “art” using one netlabel for episode 🙂 This is necessary, because every netlabel website has a different structure, so I will show you the most common cases you could stumble upon.
Before proceeding with this guide, please install all the listed software. Let’s go!
Example 2: SurrealFreak netlabel
SurrealFreak netlabel shows you the easiest case you can stumble upon: all the releases are directly linked in the same page, one link for album (zip) and one link for the cover (jpeg): you need three-four clicks to get the whole catalogue 🙂
1. Go to Releases Page
2. Right click on the background and select “DownThemAll“:
3a. Type the destination folder path in the field; i suggest you to use the “netlabel url without www“ as folder name: in this case ..\surrealfreak.com;
3b. Check ZIP and JPEG as filetypes, since the releases are available just as zipped archives, and the covers use JPEG format;
3c. When you are ready, you can both start the download (1) or enqueue the files (2) to download ‘em later (ex. during night);
4. Both starting or enqueuing the downloads, you will get a window like this:
To batch extract with one more click all the zips you have got, just point the great freeware ExtractNow (for Windows) to this folder and run it as explained here. After some minutes, you will get something like this (one subfolder each zip file):
Ok? Now just reneame the subfolders according to the scheme “netlabel url without www\release_code“ and you will get the following nicely organized view of the netlabel catalogue:
Nice, isn’t? 🙂 The era of painfull downloading has ended! 🙂
